Spirit of Manchester Festival calls for fringe events

Spirit of Manchester Festival
1 - 10 October 2017

The organisers of Manchester’s annual celebration of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector are looking forward to organisations and communities to take part.

They are encouraging as many groups as possible to put on events during the 10-day festival that shine a light on the good work done by the third sector.

It’s an opportunity to give good deeds the recognition they deserve and to create a city-wide celebration of the incredible, and often invisible, people behind them.

The idea is simply to open your doors for a little while (perhaps at lunchtime or teatime) and put something on which introduces your organisation and the great activities and services you deliver.

Macc (Manchester’s local voluntary & community sector support organisation) will provide you with a Spirit of Manchester Festival logo and offer support with promoting your event online and through their communication channels.

You could hold something simple like a support group session, an open day, a coffee morning or a bake off or even go a bit bigger with an art exhibition, a sports match, a fun fair/day or something a bit more creative. It’s entirely up to you, but whatever it is it should showcase the talent and creativity of your group and the people involved.
