After more than 40 years on King Street, Watches of Switzerland have moved to St Ann’s Square, joining the recently opened Harrington & Hallworth.
The opulent interiors and customer experiences of both stores match the eye-watering prices of their prized timepieces.
Shoppers are transported into a different world, with a customer’s lounge, champagne as you shop, an in-house horologist and some of Switzerland’s finest (and most expensive) watch brands.
With Brexit hitting the value of the pound, overseas customers make up the majority of luxury watch sales in the UK. The most expensive timepiece on sale in store costs a whopping £1.2m.
Watches of Switzerland joins Harrington & Hallworth, which was opened in Manchester in August by the 2016 winner of WatchPro’s Luxury Retailer of the Year Award.
The business, run by Peter Harrington and Alf Hallworth, already operates prestige watch and jewellery stores in Wilmslow and Ashton-under-Lyne. The new store can be found on the corner of King Street and St Ann’s Square.
Speaking about the new showroom, Harrington & Hallworth said:
“We believe our offer is significantly different to our competitors and we are delighted to have secured exclusive agencies with Vacheron Constantin, Breguet and Chopard including their prestigious LUC range. We would love to welcome customers new and old to our new showroom to celebrate with a glass of fizz.”
