Former Manchester House head chef Aiden Byrne is rumoured to be set to take the top job at Manchester’s new sky-high restaurant, 20 Stories.
The news comes only months after a recent promotion to oversee the menus across Living Ventures’ portfolio of restaurants, including Pan Asian fine dining restaurant Australasia, Artisan, Blackhouse, Grand Pacific, Gusto and the Alchemist brands.
At 100 metres up above Spinningfields, Manchester’s tallest restaurant plans to rise above the competition. Called 20 Stories, its towering name reflects that accolade.
Opening in February 2018, the rooftop restaurant and garden terrace sits atop of the new No. 1 Spinningfields glass office building. The 9,500 sq ft space will have corner views of the city to rival Cloud 23 Bar. The bar on the 23rd floor of the Beetham Tower had previously held the title of Manchester’s tallest bar and eatery.
Restaurant group D&D is behind the new venture, bringing with them a portfolio of Michelin stars from their Angler in Moorgate & Launceston Place restaurants in Kensington.
Aiden Byrne was raised in Merseyside and comes from a humble background. Head Chef by the tender age of 22, he has worked in many Michelin-Starred establishments including Adlards, Tom Aikens, Pied A Terre and The Commons.
Aiden spent a long time in London mastering his skills and focusing his passion. Yearning to move closer to home with his family, Aiden opened Manchester House with Living Ventures in 2013. A passion project which has won Aiden both critical acclaim and a loyal fan base.
