At 100 metres up above Spinningfields, Manchester’s tallest restaurant plans to rise above the competition. Called 20 Stories, its towering name reflects that accolade.
Opening in February 2018, the rooftop restaurant and garden terrace sits atop of the new No. 1 Spinningfields glass office building. The 9,500 sq ft space will have corner views of the city to rival Cloud 23 Bar. The bar on the 23rd floor of the Beetham Tower had previously held the title of Manchester’s tallest bar and eatery.
Restaurant group D&D is behind the new venture, bringing with them a portfolio of Michelin stars from their Angler in Moorgate & Launceston Place restaurants in Kensington. 20 Stories will be joined in No. 1 Spinningfields by WeWork and The Ivy brasserie.
Plans are also underway for a new urban oasis on the Spinningfields estate branded ‘The Field’.
A permanent and adventurous public space, home to a four-storey, timber-framed building known as The Pavilion, The Field has been inspired by Eleanor Byrom, a young Manchester-habitant whose health was transformed in the 1700’s by a field opposite her home, now known as ‘Hardman Square’.
