Plans to transform a derelict space on Oxford Road into a mouth-watering collection of pop-up eateries, coffee shops and a nano-brewery have been approved.
Manchester-based property developers Bruntwood are behind the vision for the vacant area of Oxford Road. It will see a dark space beneath the Mancunian Way transformed into Hatch – Manchester’s answer to the popular BoxPark shipping container scheme in London.
Falling under the wider Circle Square scheme, the area is quickly getting a reputation for sparking innovation across all sectors. An independent food and drink offer nearby is seen as the perfect place to fuel further ideas and collaborations.
Now approved, a total of 33 units are due to be built in two phases under the stewardship of the management team behind ‘Afflecks’, the Northern Quarter shopping emporium of eclecticism.
Phase one is aiming to launch later this month, with the full offer due to be ready by Summer 2018.
