The brunch revolution gains an Indian twist

The trend for bottomless brunches, pizza brunches and hangover brunches was imported from across the Atlantic, however Britain can now claim its own addition to the modern breakfast menu.

Zouk are trialling the Indian brunch by offering nashta - Hindi for breakfast - every Saturday and Sunday until 1pm.

Diners can expect surprises such as Bollywood eggs Benedict, the Maharaja’s Full Indian Breakfast and Mumbai Breakfast Buns. Expect the novel creations to catch on!

The menu will also feature more traditional options, including spiced keema and anda or paneer bhurji (scrambled eggs with lamb mince or paneer cheese); peshwari naan with fruit chaat; yoghurt and granola with mango; and lamb nihari.

The authentic recipes with a modern twist are the inventions of the restaurant's co-founders Tayub and Mudassar Amjad.

Located on Chester Street off Oxford Road, Zouk has gained somewhat of a cult following since its opening in 2009. Celebrity clientele include Canadian rapper Drake, Peter Kay and Rihanna.

The new brunch menu is available from 9am to 1pm every Saturday and Sunday.
