Support offered to community reporters covering homelessness

A new scheme is looking for people to help shine a light on homelessness through community reporting.

Free training from Manchester Community Central will help people to find their voice and describe their own realities of live on the streets. It will teach new digital skills and the explore the possibilities offered by the latest smartphones to support people to tell their own stories, in their own ways.

They are currently looking for people to join us to share their experiences of homelessness. Have you experienced homelessness? Have you supported someone close to you through homelessness? Do you work with people experiencing homelessness? Do you provide housing and homelessness support services? Then if so, they would like to hear your story.

As part of a wider project, your stories will then be included into films that will reflect the situation of homelessness in Manchester. The films will be used to create conversations about the topic with a view to changing attitudes and policies.
