Food & Drink Festival opens with a NQ cocktail crawl

28th September – 8th October
Hula, Rosylee, The Fitzgerald and Tusk

Bars in the Northern Quarter are coming together to put their own unique spin on the Manchester Food & Drink Festival.

Bar owner MAD will take you on a globally-inspired cocktail roam as you try cocktails inspired by different corners of the world. Starting in Africa and the tribal surrounds of Tusk you’ll enjoy a homemade infusion cocktail from South Africa’s Whitley Neill. Back to England and Rosylee for a quintessentially British classic from Portobello Road. Going across the pond to America, enjoy a 1920s, speakeasy-style Hudson Whiskey cocktail at The Fitzgerald and finish in the tropics with a fresh and fruity rum number in Hula, from Santa Teresa.

All cocktails are priced at £5 with a MAD passport and if you manage to collect a stamp at each venue you could win a £100 bar tab.

If you want to learn a bit more about the craft behind the concoctions, there’s plenty of tasting sessions and masterclasses. From the speakeasy history of American bourbons and whiskeys to the quintessentially English gin, there’s something for all palates.
