Co-op Insurance trials UK’s first car insurance Chatbot

Co-op Insurance is trialling the UK’s first ever car insurance Chatbot.

Available now, the Co-op Insurance Chatbot gives users a sneak peek into how much they could expect to pay for their car insurance in as little as 30 seconds, before completing the full quote on the Co-op Insurance website.

Visitors can receive an instant car insurance estimate 24/7 via Facebook Messenger, a digital messaging platform used by 1.2 billion Facebook users. All the user has to do is simply answer four quick questions relating to their age, location, who will be driving the car and value of the vehicle to be insured.

Co-op’s messenger bot then compares this information against their database of customers from the previous year. This information is then used to calculate an average of what people who fall within the same categories pay for their car insurance direct from Co-op Insurance, excluding any optional extras.
