Explore the aesthetics of cycling with this free workshop from Nell of Studio 25. Taking her mobile letterpress to PLANT in NOMA, you will see the mastery behind her craft firsthand before printing your own ‘Ride Print Repeat’ souvenir postcard to take home.
Ride Print Repeat is one stop on a Summer-long celebration of sport which also includes the exhibition – Athletically Pleasing – a showcase of products exploring the connections between design and sport.
Nell Smith produces intricate drawings, lino and screen prints. Drawings begin regimented, gridlike, and then develop organically and instinctively. Taking inspiration from nature, drawing, and the labour behind hand-made work, she enjoys exploring traditional techniques, and the repetitive nature of printmaking.
PLANT is a neighbourhood design studio. Inside you’ll find woodwork, ceramics, and sewing. Wood, clay, and cloth. Located in the heart of the NOMA neighbourhood alongside community built pub The Pilcrow and Sadler’s Yard, it reflects the area’s dedication to skill sharing and innovation.
