‘This is the Place’ tribute book goes on sale

The day after the horrendous Manchester Arena attack, Tony Walsh read his now famous poem 'This Is The Place' at a vigil outside the town hall. Now, over 60 Manchester creatives have collaborated, each taking a line from the poem to inspire unique pieces of art, illustration, design and photography. Their work is now presented in this one-of-a-kind book with proceeds going to charitable causes.

James Torry who initiated the project and curated the book said:

"The idea came after watching Tony deliver the poem at the vigil. Manchester is special place with an incredible creative community; big enough to be making great work on a global stage, but small enough that people know one another. We're not medics or first responders, but there was a sense that we wanted to do our bit, and the work people have made has created something quite unique, something really beautiful that we hope will mark a moment but look forward with hope."

The roll call is extensive including world renowned agencies and designers like Peter Saville (New Order, Joy Division, Factory Records designer) and Malcolm Garrett (Buzzcocks designer).

All proceeds will be split between 3 Manchester charities. They represent the vision of the book in supporting those worst affected whilst looking ahead to make 'This Place' a better place: Forever Manchester, We Love MCR Emergency Fund and The Greater Manchester Mayor's Homelessness Fund.
